It is the middle of Summer and the millkweed have lost their flowers to give way to their form of reproduction by way of seed pods that burst open with seeds that have fine hairs of fluff attached and are carried by the wind once the pods burst open. The early seed pods are smaller and quite edible. The inside immature seeds can be extracted to create a tasty soup.
The recipe is at my web site TheUrbanAbo.com under recipes.
The plants featured are:
Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca)
