In this tutorial I we will make a water-tight canteen out of bamboo complete with a carrying net and strap, all from natural materials. We begin by sizing and drilling a hole to fit our cork, plug, or stopper.

Bamboo is an extremely versatile plant. It is a species of grass that grows very tall and strong. It grows with noded sections that are hollow, and can even contain water when it is alive.

When harvested and the nodes are isolated they become hollow tubes that are water-tight that can be made into all sorts of tools and products, such as cooking vessels, cups, and canteens.
